Ignite Burn

On a beautiful jewel of land nestled in Virginia, we gather in the Spring to play, plan, learn, and burn. Listen closely and you’ll hear the beautiful call of the peacocks calling you to Ignite!

Fellow Combustizans,

It is with great sadness and frustration that the Ignite! Planning Association (IPA) has decided that we cannot responsibly hold Ignite! 2021 over Memorial Day weekend (May 28-31, 2021). We gathered as much relevant information as possible, and considered the various options and responsibilities we have, and after the many weeks of deliberation, could not confidently invest the time and resources of this community and its leaders toward holding a safely run event over the Memorial Day weekend.

The IPA continues to meet and plan with the intention of trying to plan and coordinate an event later in 2021. With the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting the country and world, the potential of holding a full size event may be restricted, so we are considering many options.

Ultimately, we are just people, and despite our best wishes, intentions, and desires, we have yet to find a magic crystal ball. As such, 2021 still holds many uncertainties, and we cannot guarantee that any event for 2021 will be possible. Rest assured, the IPA has been experiencing the same anxiety, frustration, and fatigue, as everyone else, and we feel the need to burn as much as you, so we will do everything in our human capacity to figure out a way for all of us to commune and experience our collective magic.

Take care of yourselves and each other, wash your hands, practice social distancing, and wear a mask. Continue to demonstrate the compassion and kindness that exemplifies our Ignite! family.

Thank you all for your patience and confidence.
— The IPA
