The pattern of light dancing off of water, the luminescent dapples spread across a room by a suncatcher, a distorted reflection spreading light to unexpected places…Find yourself in the Luminance Canvas: build a pattern of light and shadow across the space, and then put yourself in the center of the show.

T.U.G. Tiny Utility Gollum

T.U.G. is more than just transport—its a roving art piece that brings wonder, interaction, and delight to everyone that encounters it. We hope you hop on as we launch this mobile sci-fi fantasy into orbit—creating moments of connection, joy, and shared imagination under the stars. In a previous life it hauled industrial loads and it is up to the task of hauling up to 12 action hippies at a time! Powered by Pulse Width Modulation into a Separately Excited 36V DC motor, T.U.G. has the torque to pull over 1 ton!

Do you enjoy color theory? Optical illusions? Whirling around in circles at dance parties (without actually moving)? Then come take this art for a spin! Safety Note: The Carousel’s motion effect is driven by rapidly flashing LEDs, and can be disorienting!

These are the three muses of engineering (electrical, mechanical, and chemical). They fearlessly look toward the future in the style of Soviet propaganda posters. They hole the glowing orbs of their inspiration.

Fish is a 7’ fish shape jumping over a boat. Made from recycled materials and programmed LEDs.

Niche Micro Stage

Inspired by the intimate recesses within a cathedral, the Niche Micro Stage is a lighted and framed ornamental space for any individual to perform at, throughout a burn. Using a portable closet as a foundation, [redacted] have crafted beloved and beguiling frames for independent and impromptu performances. On the grounds of Ignite, allow yourself to be pulled into the portals of duplicate stages and share/witness acts by your fellow burners.

Petals of Perception is an immersive scent garden that invites participants to cross a sensory threshold and enter the unseen realms within themselves. Unlike sight or sound, scent bypasses logic and speaks directly to the soul. Through oversized fragrant flowers and an intimate sanctuary space, the piece explores scent as a forgotten language of memory, emotion, and inner vision. As wanderers follow the petaled path into the sanctuary, they are invited to slow down, breathe deeply, and notice what awakens within—the images, memories, or emotions emerging from the subconscious.

OAK & IRON SKYFRAME

Oak & Iron Skyframe is a 12-foot-long, 10-foot-tall, rune-carved wooden skyframe designed as a public playground for kids of all ages. It invites supported movement - hanging, swinging, stretching, gentle inversion, and play using one or two yoga trapezes or Lyra hoops.

Combustion Love - A Collaborative Community Mural

Come watch painters paint live, and contribute a few brushstrokes yourself to a mural that honors the Love and spirit of Ignite! This community group mural will be painted live by many hands before Sunday’s Temple Burn. This project is comprised of two components - a 4’ x 8’ flat canvas, elevated on a stand, that 3-4 people can paint in front of at a time, and a separate frame that will go around the mural, once it’s completed, that’s collaged with smaller paintings created by Combustians.
