2024 Art Grant Recipients
The Ignite! Art Grant Jury awarded $10,000 in art grants to seventeen artists! Recipients include three Ignite! Art Grant previous grants you’re likely to recognize, which are returning this year with supplemental funding. We are excited to share a sneak peek on what you can expect to see this year.
We will be conducting a Friday art walk again this year to check out the projects and meet some of the artists in person, keep an eye on the schedule for details!

Amor Fati, Iceberg
Amor Fati, or the "Love of Fate," is a way to describe an attitude one can use to confront the Mysteries of Life. It requires a discipline in embracing all that has happened, all that is happening, and all that is to come. In this way, we can reclaim our personal power of decision making, even in the face of pain and suffering.
Bunches of Benches, Kip Reynolds
Get off your feet and grab a seat on some public art! Bunches of Benches will provide sturdy benches scattered around Combustia and fit for public consumption. Kick a leg up and settle down on a bench to people watch, admire art, or just chat with others from a comfortable sitting position.
Club Random, Daria Mace
Club Random (An Interactive Self-Service Dance Installation) Random music for spontaneous acts of dance! …‘Soul train in, … soul train out’ … Show off your tried n true moves or make up some new ones on the fly. Feel GOOD… cuz it’s ALL good…at Club Random! (Your alternative place to dance at Ignite!)
Come to the Fae side, we have cookies, Paige Elliott
Remote controlled cart with a large lit up glowing mushroom to spread the smells of cookies far and wide. What other kind of chaotic being besides a Fae would waft around the smells of baking cookies in the middle of the night while driving around a giant glowing mushroom, and then just wanders off into the night? This girl.
Didgeridoo Building Workshop, Elliott Hall
Through heating, bending, painting, sanding, and dipping, a beautiful instrument will begin to take shape. In this art workshop each person will have access to all the materials and tools needed to make and decorate a didgeridoo that looks and sounds great. Come join in on crafting your very own PVC didgeridoo!
Elemental Fairy Wishing Bowl, Andrea Kurtz
A magical place to leave your wishes in the care of fairy kind. An enchanted wooden bowl etched with fire by the fairies where you may place an elemental offering when you make your wish, and magical ink in which to inscribe your wish on the elemental tablet of your choice. Know that these wishes will be revealed with fire so take care in what you want the mortal world to see.
Feather, Doyle Bussey
Imagine a Raven’s flight feather. Now imagine it eight feet tall and made from steel, fiberglass and a butt load of zip ties. Raven calls will be heard from the support base.
Frame Of Mind, Sky Patrick
How we view ourselves is a frame of mind, and some things we may view negatively about ourselves are our shining qualities. Come see yourself reflected in mirrors, take photos within photo frames with statements loudly affirming and announcing that you are proud of who you are.
GlowQuest, Captain Peach
It's a strange place to stumble across an old phone booth. You thought they were all extinct, relics of a bygone era. The ringing payphone beckons mysteriously and you answer the call. A voice from the future urgently pleads for your assistance and you suddenly find yourself thrust amidst a cosmic conspiracy. You will need to be cunning as you search for clues and decode mysterious ciphers. The aged phone serves as a portal, linking you to enigmatic emissaries from the future. However, with each revelation, a crucial question emerges: who can you truly trust?

The Gifting Tree - The Heart of the Gifting Tree, OuijaCat
Gifting and sharing are an important component of the Burn culture and the principle of “gifting” encompasses aspects of many of the other principles as well. Whether it’s through the sharing of our food, music, conversation, artistic talents, something from our lives that we are ready to part with, or ourselves through Radical Participation and Radical Self Expression, a “gift” is something to be given or taken without expectation. It is an opportunity for both giver and receiver to gain pleasure from the exchange and the Immediacy of the moment. Come once... come often.
The Penny Freakthing, Aube
Drawn from the rich history of freak bikes this monstrosity is a mashup of the classic penny farthing and a vintage rickshaw. Carrying two or maybe more riders in high class this whimsical vehicle will shuttle you to your destination in style! But it's not a free ride, There is a set of pedals for you too! So sit down, buckle up (actually there are no seat belts) and get ready to whip some donuts on the Penny Freakthing!
The Upcycled Moonman, Katlyn Cornelious
"The Upcycled Moonman" is an innovative sculpture celebrating sustainability and cultural nostalgia. Crafted with wood, wire and Amazon packaging envelopes, its surface is adorned with meticulously sewn pop tabs and slathered with a coat of reflective glass beads, creating a uniquely reflective mosaic.
The Wheel, Ellen Ross
The wheel is fun day or night, come and grab a handle and give it a good spin to get yourselves some nice rainbow designs in paint and light.
