Ignite! 2020 Cancellation
| Hello Combustians, When Ignite! was postponed, we were early in the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, humanity has learned much more about the virus and we’ve witnessed its spread. The Ignite Planning Association’s (IPA’s) top priority has always been the safety of all Combustians and the surrounding community. Holding our burn in 2020 would put that safety in jeopardy. So, it is with much sadness that we must cancel Ignite! 2020. Our intention is to focus all of our efforts on creating Ignite! in 2021. We hope to see you all at home again on Memorial Day weekend at Spirithaven. We are refunding you through our bank and not through Brown Paper Tickets. Why? Our merchant processor has a 120 maximum day refund policy which we were not able to have waived, and this prevents BPT from directly and automatically pushing your refunds back. However we have worked with our bank to process the refunds through them and we’ve already sent them the necessary details to have this done. We expect everything to be processed within 4 weeks or less based on what we’ve been told. Facts and details you may need: *PLEASE DO NOT email/call Brown Paper Tickets about your refund. Since they are not handling and cannot process the refund there is nothing they can do. You can email our internal ticket gurus at [email protected] *We expect 4 weeks or less for all the refunds to be processed. If this changes for some reason we’ll let you know as soon as we know. *Refunds will go back to the card they were purchased with. If that card is closed or replaced then generally the banks will route the money to the proper new account automatically. If this doesn’t happen then we’ll have to handle those situations one at a time to get things processed properly. When we surveyed the community, many members indicated they would be willing to forgo a refund to either 1) donate the ticket price to Ignite! to cover losses for the burn or 2) donate the ticket price to Ignition Assistance to help burners in need. Due to sound fiscal management over the years, our burn will be fine. If you do not wish to keep your refund, you can donate to Ignition Assistance here. Alternatively, we’d be thrilled if you donated to any other charity or social cause you find worthy. We do not make these decisions lightly. Ultimately, this is the best way to protect the health and wellness of our community and the region at large. Take care of yourselves and each other, wash your hands, practice social distancing, wear a mask, and continue to prove that the Ignite! community is strong and beautiful. The IPA |
